Old Business:

Minutes:Motion made by Barry Whitley, seconded by Amanzie Jenkins to approve the minutes of the October council meeting. Vote was unanimous.

New Business:

.Saunders Engineering: Motion made by Amanzie Jenkins, seconded by Glenn Harris to hire Saunders Engineering for the Courthouse Streetscape TE project. Vote was unanimous.

2011 Holidays:It was announced that City Hall would be closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th for Thanksgiving, Monday, December 26th and Tuesday, December 27th for Christmas, and Monday, January 2nd for New Years. The annual Christmas tree lighting will be held on Monday December 5th.

Veteran’s Day:Motion made by Barry Whitley, seconded by Amanzie Jenkins to add Veteran’s Day to the list of holidays observed by the City of Butler.

Department Reports:Chief Mike Peacock reported 66 citations issued in the previous month and 247 calls. He also reported that the Live Scan fingerprinting device was now in use. He stated that the unit is currently located at the police department but would be moved to the new jail once that facility is opened.

Public Works Director, Bob Bacle, stated that the Venus Street sewer project and the courthouse sidewalk project were both progressing.

Eddie Moulton with the fire department reported 6 calls in the prior month. The calls included 4 structure fires. He informed the council that an extrication class was held in the previous month and also that pump tests were to be performed on the trucks in the upcoming days. Also mentioned was that hydrant testing had been completed and a list of those in need of repair or replacement would be given to the appropriate personnel.
